Dr. Götz Welsch is a Professor of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at UKE Hamburg and Medical Director of the Athleticum am Volkspark, Germany’s interdisciplinary centre for elite sports medicine. He is a specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery, focusing on sports injuries, cartilage therapy, rehabilitation, and prevention.
He has served as Head Team Physician for Hamburger SV (HSV) since 2014, working at the highest level of professional sport. He is also active in scientific advisory roles, including involvement with medical journals such as sportärztezeitung, and contributes to advancing regenerative and functional orthopaedic treatment approaches.
